The documentation / guide linked shows how I and not my customer applies a coupon. I am looking for a way to have the customer put a coupon code into a checkout session (stripe hosted). Not me.

Discounts in Checkout allow you to reduce the amount charged to a customer for one-time payments by discounting their subtotal with coupons and promotion codes.
