Hi there 👋 I don't think there is prebuilt functionality available for what you're describing. Since you're using Promotion Codes, is it safe to assume you're using Checkout Sessions or Payment Links to let your customers create their Subscriptions?

Yeah, we've been using payment links and checkout sessions depending on the scenario.
In our app we want to promote users to sign up and get the 7 day trial but we have some users that we want to give a first month free option.
I'd like them to access it the same way in the app and we just give them the promo code for the first month free.

That's not possible, you would need to know before creating the Checkout Session whether to include the trial period for the Subscription it creates. Overall I don't think Promotion Codes are a good fit here. I think you'd want to determine before creating the Checkout Session whether a Coupon or trial will be used, and adjust how you craete the Checkout Session accordingly.
