hello! I think what you're looking for might be the Tax API : https://docs.stripe.com/tax/custom#calculate-tax - rather than maintaining it in your own site, you can make use of Stripe Tax to calculate the tax that needs to be paid?

to be clear though, afaik, we don't have an API to retrieve the current tax for a specific country. Although you can get something close to that with the Tax API when calculating how much tax to pay by referring to the tax_rate_details : https://docs.stripe.com/api/tax/calculations/object#tax_calculation_object-tax_breakdown-tax_rate_details
