Good question, looking in to this and will get back to you
Apologies, still having trouble finding info on this. Can you tell me more about the specific configuration for your connect accounts that you are using that requires selfie verification?
And when you are creating your account onboarding links, are you specifying collect: 'eventually_due?
Yes! And this is actually a separate stripe product from y'all: https://stripe.com/identity. We currently use this to verify that we don't have fraudulent actors creating payments on our platform
I was hoping that we can sort of encapsulate what that product does into hosted onboarding to do it all in one go
Unfortunately as best I can tell, connect onboarding does not support making the selfie check part of its flow. I can put in a feature request for this, but for now I think you will need to do account onboarding and the verification session separately
Okay. Thank you so much for looking into this!
I've got one other question
Is full social + uploading a government doc assumed to be enough verification to avoid fraud (stolen information) according to stripe?
Might be a less developer-y question, but sort of trying to understand if using both hosted onboarding + identity is even recommended
Unfortunately that is a bit out of my realm of developer-y knowledge. If you talk to our support team, they may be able to better advise on this https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true
