The underlying question would be : if the "onReady" does not do what I expect, how should I handle the conditional display of the "Or pay another way" section, that depends on whether the Gpay button appears ?

Okey thanks, you just actually made me realize I wasn't properly checking the event content. In Mozilla, no availablePaymentMethods are passed, whereas in Chrome there is.
