If I receive that event and do nothing, will the charge.refunded event be sent automatically?
no, a refund will not be sent automatically. If you do nothing, you'll definitely lose the dispute. I recommend reading through https://docs.stripe.com/disputes/how-disputes-work to understand disputes.
Oh my question is
If I lose a dispute, I assume I will be refunded automatically, but I was wondering if the charge.refunded event is sent at that time?
i think there's some misunderstanding here. If you lose a dispute, you're out of those funds. i.e. when the dispute occurs, Stripe will take the original payment amount + dispute fee from your account. If you lose the dispute, nothing happens, you're already out of those funds
there's no refund that will occur
