It's a javascript error when you attempt to submit the form after selecting Google Pay as the payment option.

If you have a Chrome browser with a Google Pay card set up, I can provide you a live link where you can see the error in action.

As for how the app itself is structured, I took it directly from the "stripe-samples / accept-a-payment" repo

Good lord. You can disregard this entire thing. This is/was all caused because the google pay popup was being blocked.
