Hello! We'll be with you shortly. Below are links to other discussions we've had with you in the past week in case you want to review that information. If your question is related to one of these previous discussions, please provide a comprehensive summary of the current state and what you need help with now. We help many users simultaneously, so a summary allows us to resolve your issue as soon as possible.

Hello! Usually you would create a new, replacement Invoice for them to pay.

is it possible to link that new invoice to an existing subscription?

mellow musk
#

No, not really. You could specify the Subscription's ID in the new Invoice's metadata, but that's not a direct link between the two, just an extra bit of info on the Invoice object.

hmm

#

do you know what resetting the billing cycle does and if it might help in this scenario?

mellow musk
#

I doubt it will help. That will change when the customer is billed.

#

It will produce a new Invoice, but it very likely won't be for the amount you want.

so if a subscripton invoice is voided stripe considers that billing cycle paid?

#

*the billing cycle the invoice was for

Another approach would be to add an Invoice Line Item to the Customer for the amount of the voided Invoice, which will then be picked up when the Subscription creates the next Invoice.

It depends on your settings.
