hi! sure, that can happen, the customer's bank will not always decline transactions on expired cards(especially if they have just re-issed a new card with the same number but a new expiry date, and your merchant account has already charged that same card in the past).

so the new expiry date won't be showing on stripe dashboard unless the user adds the same card again ?
yes, they either have to update it/re-add it, or we might pick it up and update automatically in some cases(https://docs.stripe.com/billing/revenue-recovery/smarter-saved-cards)
