Hello! We'll be with you shortly. Below are links to other discussions we've had with you in the past week in case you want to review that information. If your question is related to one of these previous discussions, please provide a comprehensive summary of the current state and what you need help with now. We help many users simultaneously, so a summary allows us to resolve your issue as soon as possible.

Hello

#

Hmm let me check

crystal escarp
#

Using the S700 FYI

potent jungle
#

Yeah not possible

#

I can submit a feature request for this.

#

But at the moment if you use setReaderDisplay then you can't disable pre-dipping

crystal escarp
#

Would be very useful. Can I setReaderDisplay while calling process-payment-intent? So users can see the items they’re about to pay for

potent jungle
#

No, when you call process-payment-intent that will change the reader screen.

#

Out of curiosity, why do you want to disable pre-dipping?

crystal escarp
#

Because we don’t want users dipping a card until the full amount they’ll be charged is shown

potent jungle
#

Why not just wait until that full amount is calculated to call setReaderDisplay?

  1. Customers want to see item prices as they’re rung up, that’s common in retail environments

  2. If we waited till the full amount was ready, then the process-payment call would override the reader display right? That is why I asked if process-payment can keep the reader display up

Yeah I hear you, no real way around it right now. I think the general idea is that the customer is already okay with whatever the total is/will-be if they pre-dip... though I do understand that there are instances this could generate confusion.

I did find we already have an open feature request for this internally, so I'll note that there is more interest for disabling pre-dipping there.

#

So overall the solution right now would be to show the line items on a separate display

#

Okay wait a second...

#

Alright @crystal escarp actually I'm wrong

#

After pre-dipping the screen still shows the items

#

And you can still update them
