in our work flow, we dont perform payment transaction until a future date and that too only if a customer had to be charged
but we have to collect card detail adhead of time for future intent. We realized that cvv and zipcode validation were not happening when a customer is created and payment method is added to customer. We were informed that we had to perform atleast setupIntent to make sure Credit card details(name,cvv,zip, exp) are verified as part of card setup with stripe
