I get insufficent funds on the test card but it doesnt forward on to my payments page that only happens when I get a success

What does "it doesnt forward to my payments page" mean exactly?

Can you show me a screenshot of what you're seeing?

I am on a different machine at the moment but it just literally reports Insufficient funds and stop it does not redirect to the return url which means we can not log failures which is a statory requirement of our system

That sounds like expected behavior; it's displaying an error and giving the customer a chance to provide different payment info and try again.

ok so there is no way to be sent to the return url?

It's hard to say for sure without seeing what you're seeing, but if I'm right then no, we wouldn't send someone to the return_url in a case like this.

ok I will go back to the end client and ask them to choose another payment provider
