Hello! We don't always send emails in test mode, even when the address matches the address you use to login to the Dashboard. I recommend you don't rely on test mode emails.
What specific thing are you trying to test?
Mainly just wanting to know exactly what emails are going to be sent and when, and see an example of them
The best way to know what's sent is to review your email settings in the Dashboard and see what's enabled.
Okay. It seems to send failed payment emails, but I never get anything about upcoming payments/etc for subscriptions even with it turned on which is weird
Yep, again, we only send some emails in test mode, which makes it impossible to test every email.
