@amber birch no I can't think of a specific card that would make sense to reproduce this. I don't really understand what is being described in the first place.

@slim edge

"Plaid and Stripe have partnered to offer frictionless money transfers without the need to ever handle an account or routing number."

The portal triggers that normally bring up the popover for verifying via Plaid is not popping over when using UK-issued American Express cards. Stripe has a list of 3D secure cards to test with but none meet the criteria of what we need to replicate.

I'm not sure what AMEX in the UK does differently but it doesn't seem to trigger the Plaid verification and we need to test.

Plaid is entirely unrelated to 3DS? Plaid is a company that lets you enter bank account details and prove you own it

#

Plaid is for ACH Debit where you enter your bank's password, nothing to do with 3DS that I can think of

Amex has "SafeKey" for 3DS normally but its not being recognized for UK-issued Amex. I'm not 100% sure it prompts for 3DS in the states also and the 3DS cards in Stripe's documentation doesn't provide AMEX as a card option specifically for testing 3DS.

#

I have gotten confirmation from Stripe support that AMEX's SafeKey does work with Stripe but have not had an AMEX-card holder on board to test this where 3D secure was enabled

Our standard 3DS test cards should work here to show you how 3DS will work with your flow. We don't have different test behavior based on card brand as far as I am aware

That's what we are running into issues with. No way to confirm that AMEX is or isn't working since the AMEX test card isn't set up specifically for 3DS in your list of regulatory cards

#

your 3DS cards work wonderfully otherwise! just this pesky AMEX (undetermined if it is happening only in the UK or also in the US)

#

I'm also on Chat with Plaid working that angle simultaneously. I just am not sure where to go from here or what to tell our client trying to process multiple end-user cards and having to try 3 times to actually succeed.

#

I may be on to something on Stripe's end.

Is there a Radar rule that specifically designates card type?

#

Nevermind! Found it

#

I think I've got some work I can do on my end to make sure we are checking the proper things based on card type and country
