Hi 👋

The amounts for Prices cannot be changed once they are set. However, you can create multiple Prices for each Product and update which Price is the default.

Yes, I tried that. I created new prices, made one of them default and then archived the existing ones. But that broke our product.

My question is simple: Can I update the existing prices so that I don't end up breaking my product ?

You cannot update existing prices

#

How did this "break" your product in the past?

This is the first instance we are trying to adjust the prices. So we have never come across this in the past

#

For whatever reason , the prices displayed on our product UI gets messed up when I made the suggested changes

But you just said you tried it and it broke your product. I am trying to understand what happened so I can advise you on how you can make the change without this issue

Yes, I tried the same thing you have suggested and it messed up the displayed prices in our product

What do you mean "messed up" here? I'm still trying to get enough information to understand the problem

Well the prices for Monthly shows as $X/month and Annual shows as $Y / Month. When I added the new prices and archived the existing ones, the $X and $Y disappeared but the new prices were no longer displayed in the product

Where are these prices being displayed?

To be clear it is impossible to change a Price's unit_amount. You have to create a brand new Price with a different Price id. No way around it

In one of our pages in the product .

#

I guess we are referencing the Price ID in our product. Hence it is breaking after the change.

#

I was hoping that this change will not need a PR but looks like we have to update these Ids in our product
