We are using this (stripe connect), and one of our clients has an issue with it

That is an authentication pop up, we have absolutely no control over what content is loaded there

Do you mean usage: 'off_session'? In that case it is likely that 3DS is required because you have indicated you will charge these cards automatically in the future
