Hi 👋 you will need to add it before the Invoice is finalized, once finalized most of an Invoice object is locked. Adding an additional Invoice Item sounds like it'd be a good option, especially if you want that to appaer as an additional line on the Invoice.

Thanks Toby! The invoice is meant to be opaque to the customer, would they only see the charge?

Depends on your settings and integration patterns. If you don't email out finalized Invoices, and don't allow Customers access to the Customer Portal, then I think it would be hidden from them.
