Now, what happens after that? If my customer does a new transfer to that IBAN in one year because they saved it on their bank, will the IBAN still be valid and work? If not, when does the IBAN expires and becomes invalid?
Yes as long as the Customer isn't deleted
Second related question: if I delete the customer, is the linked IBAN deleted as well? (because some customers initiate a payment, and then never do the bank transfer).
Yep, you should also be able to test this!
Third related question: can I re-use a stripe customer and its IBAN for another person or do I have to strictly keep to the 1 customer = 1 IBAN = 1 physical person?
(this is because we have about half of the customers initiating payments but never doing the transfer, so it would be bad for us to pay 2 € for a VBAN that is in fact never used)
It is one-Customer object-one IBAN relationship
You can decide if you want multiple actual customers sending funds to a single Customer object and you creating multiple Charges for that Customer object

Another related question that comes to mind: Stripe is specifying that we are allowed up to 1000 VBANs. Is that 1000 VBANs active at the same time? Or 1000 VBANs "created"? eg. I created 1000 customer/VBANs then deleted 200, then created another 100, that makes a total of 900 "active" VBANs but 1100 created VBANs.

Ah interesting. Yeah we don't really know anything about pricing. Makes sense why I wasn't familiar -- we don't actually throw an error if you create over 1000. You are going to be best off asking this to our Support team via https://support.stripe.com/contact/login and they can get you the exact answer on how this affects pricing here.

One last question: what happens when I delete a customer and its IBAN ceases to exist, can this IBAN be re-used by another Stripe account? (in other words: should I worry that if I delete a customer, and they make a transfer to the IBAN that was created but is now deleted, that their funds will be "lost"?)
