You can manage how failures are handled in the Settings: https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/billing/automatic

Shame that none of those two option offer a "do nothing on failed payment"
But you want to cancel the Subscription right?
yeah, that one I have set to cancel the sub when all retries failed
but I wish there were 0 retry
I have set to 1 day retry with custom policy
that's the lowest I can go (either way I'm happy with this solution already, 0 would be extra but I'm fine without)
You can as well update a Subscription to reset the billing_cycle_anchor: https://stripe.com/docs/api/subscriptions/update#update_subscription-billing_cycle_anchor
