I don't believe change the billing cycle anchor is available via the portal updates, outside of forced updates like interval changing or trials etc.

Dang. I was hoping to have a stripe-hosted screen for upgrading and downgrading, but i need the billing_interval_anchor to be updated to "now" on upgrades only.
Is there any way to have a stripe portal link that doesn't actually do anything except redirect (so the customer can see their summary but i can handle the actual action behind the scenes)?

You can prevent subscription updates (by not enabling that feature) but I don't think you can have it show an "update" button that redirects to you page, no
