Hello! Usually for something like this you would use a trial period. Pausing collection isn't really appropriate for this use case.

No, trials are free.

Well, what you could do is create the Subscription for 12 months, collect payment, then at the end start a trial period for the 13th month.

its basically the same problem as having an existing subscribed customer and wanting to give them an extra bonus free duration for any reason

ah yeah ok, if I can jam a trial period in, in the middle, that would work

"Trial periods are normally applied at the start of a subscription, but you can also use a trial period on an existing subscription to change the subscription's billing cycle. When the trial ends, if the subscription status isn't paused , we generate an invoice and send an invoice."
