hi there!
good evening/morning
if I create an account and don't provide country, it defaults to the country of my stripe platform account.
correct
If the user is based in some other country, can they change the country during the verification process ?
I think that depends on how exactly you are creating the connected account
can you share a request ID (req_xxx) where you created an account?
here is an exmaple on acct_1Oc2DnFNmghqgdYs
perhaps a bad one as I have used that email address previously
req_0d5Q5R8IdNStt2
yes I think in this case merchant should be able to set their own country during the onboarding. was it not the case?
here is another one I just did req_DfQlOUVYYtNIU7
I'm writing the onboarding flow, so wondered if I needed to get user input, check geo location etc prior (which I'd rather avoid) or if I could just leave as it. just testing atm, not customers
I'm not sure I follow. you are creating Standard accounts, so you must use Stripe onboarding. When testing this, do you see a way to change the country or not?
sorry, I wasn't clear. i'm building the onboarding flow to my application, which then generates stripe connected/standard account.
so what's your question?
if I create an account as per above examples, and the user is in another country (sng/gbp/us etc) when they then go through the onboarding flow, can they update the country ?
I think so yes! but I recommend you to just test this yourself by going though the onboard. and check if you see a way to change the country or not.
it shouldn't matter since we don't send any emails in test mode.
if someone else has used it then guess i can't ?
to answer myself, guess so as random4234234234rwfasdfr@test.com worked, had to setup a pwd. one last question, if there a way to bypass the sms/authenticator in test mode ?

you are right, sorry about this. not verfy familiar with this flow myself
if there a way to bypass the sms/authenticator in test mode ?
no I don't think so
nps, thanks for the help. have a good day
