so yuo are asking if you can create SetupIntent with MOTO?

if you already have MOTO enabled for PaymentIntents, it should work the same for SetupIntents.

Yes i guess that's my question 🙂 That is the way we believed it to work, however the reason for my question is a one of our team received a 3DS prompt the other day, and because it was a mail order the customer wasn't present so we couldn't proceed. So am I right to think that this shouldn't happen with MOTO?

it's completely up to the bank to show 3DS or not. we (Stripe) have little controle over it.
