I assume the fingerprint is generated against some sort of a card reference like the card hash. In that case is it not a violation to store card information without the user's consent?

Say, I make a one-time payment with raw card information. Will Stripe provide a card fingerprint in this case also?

If one time payment is made, a card fingerprint will be provided.

What are you referring to when you said it's a violation?

I was wondering how the fingerprint be generated with saving the card information. And if you have to save card info, wouldn't it require user consent?

By default payment methods are not reusable. We collect use consent when requested that we save the details for future use. We're required my regulation to store card data for all transactions
