Should be pretty much the same. If you use Direct Charge then you need to register the domain using Stripe Account header: https://stripe.com/docs/payments/payment-methods/pmd-registration?platform=dashboard#register-your-domain-while-using-connect

we noticed this release #🔊announcements message could this have caused issues with changes to merchant domains used by Stripe? we observe issues with apple pay not working on some connected accounts>? Any recent reports of bugs/issues on this?
