I believe that is default behavior and that you still need to specifically set that payment method as the default for either the subscription or customer.
To double check, can you send me the ID of a subscription (sub_123) that you have seen this behavior on?

So, the customer has default payment_method attach to it !!
Yes exactly, that confirmation will attach the payment method to the customer but I am still forgetting if it sets it as the default anywhere by itself

Apologies for the delay. It actually looks like confirming the intent client-side should automatically set the payment as the defualt for the subscription.

Can you try this again in test mode where you confirm the intent separately and send me the ID of the subscription if it does not automatically get the payment method attached?
