Hello! Yep, separate charges and transfers is the way to go for that use case.
Thanks @rustic tendon ! So after reviewing the documentation, my concern is that our platform (US) is not in the same region as the connected accounts (mostly Africa). Docu says "In most scenarios, your platform and any connected account must be in the same region. Attempting to transfer funds across a disallowed border returns an error."
Yep, that's correct. It's possible we may not be able to support your use case, but that's not really our area here. You would need to contact support to get clarification: https://support.stripe.com/contact/email
Thanks, Ill contact them. In terms of alternative, would a charge followed by a manual payout (instead of transfer) work instead?
Possibly. You might be able to use cross-border payouts: https://stripe.com/docs/connect/cross-border-payouts
But I don't know if that will work with multiple recipients. Support should be able to guide you if you give them a detailed breakdown of your use case, the countries involved, and the funds flows you want.
Ok, awesome, preparing my message now. Thank you!
