we are billing a real-time user facting API, we need to check real-time usage for rate limit.

and the API is on latency critical path

we want to see if we can use stripe List usage record API to fetch usage info, but only if your API call is with a few ms second

Gotcha, I don't have any specifics to give you. Overall the API should be pretty quick, but it is also highly dependent on how many objects you list. Mostly I'd recommend testing this out in test mode.
