Are you using subscription_items and passing the current item ID and the updated quantity?

ah wait let me try again, i think i was passing the quantity on the subscription and not the sub item

also, it returns a url for the upcoming invoice but when i try to open it this is what i see

No, that endpoint would just provide you the data for the line items

You can't preview any visual here since the Invoice is not actually created.

You only see a preview of the data that would make up the Invoice
