Ah, if it's automatic payouts then I believe this expected - we're prepping the payout early so that it can land in your bank account as soon as it's available

Payouts can have a status of pending, yes: https://stripe.com/docs/api/payouts/object#payout_object-status

so I've only been seeing payout.created has a status of in_transit with automatic payout, when would the pending status come?

when there is a internal delay in Stripe?

You'll see pending if we haven't submitted the Payout to the bank yet. That could happen for any number of reasons. A delay on our end, the bank being unavailable, etc.
