hello! future payments that are done off-session with that card typically wouldn't require 3DS then in that case.
So to set up a future MIT, we just have to pass the setup_future_usage : off_session parameter?
yep
To use merchant-initiated transactions, you need to authenticate the card either when it’s being saved or on the first payment. Finally, you need to get an agreement from the customer (also referred to as a “mandate”) in order to charge their card at a later point.
This part is a bit confusing. What does the mandate here refer to? Should we also pass the mandate object in the request? Or just a confirmation from the user that this card would be used for future payments on the frontend would be enough?
Finally, you need to get an agreement from the customer (also referred to as a “mandate”) in order to charge their card at a later point. - what this sentence means is that you need an agreement from the customer (which is sometimes also known as a "mandate"). It's not that you literally need to pass the mandate object. There's one exception here, which is for India issued cards where a mandate is required for off-session payments
Thank you, that clears it up. In the subsequent MIT can we pass raw card information?
are you using network tokens?
No we are a PCI compliant entity. So we store cards securely in our card vault
