Hi, we asked a clarifying question from you but it does not look you answered. This platform is best for live interactions and the thread is stale we close it automatically. Here is what we asked: Do you mean cash balance (like for bank transfers) or do you mean the customer credit balance (https://stripe.com/docs/billing/customer/balance)

hi, it was a bank transfer from customers

#

so it is the real money

#

are we able to modify the invoices manually after stripe generate it?

finite forge
#

modify the invoice in what sense?

pearl forge
#

deduct the real money on our side

#

I was wondering if we can manage the cash balance ourselves, so after stripe generate invoices, we on our side manaully deduct the number if the customer still have cash balance. is that sth doable?

I saw this "Invoices can only be fully funded using the Dashboard, so this option doesn’t appear if the customer doesn’t have sufficient funds on their cash balance to fully pay the invoice."

#

if the cutomer doesn't have enough cash balance, can we just have the customer partially pay using leftover balance, and then pay the rest from the invoices?

finite forge
#

You can partially fund the PaymentIntent that's linked to the invoice afaik

got it

followup question

#

if it is partially funded, what number will show when customer get the invoice to pay the rest?

finite forge
#

what do you mean by "what number" ?

pearl forge
#

lets say we have an $100 invoice, and the customer have $30 cash balance leftover, so we reconcile and use $30 via the recocile api,

#

then how does customer know they only need to pay $70, instead of $100 in this schenario?

#

Will the invoices show the details?

finite forge
#

Invoice won't be updated retroactivelly after it gets sent, no.

If you're using hosted invoice page then it might automatically update the amount (not 100% sure, you'd likely want to test it out)

My guess is, it will still show $100

pearl forge
#

yeah, we are using hosted invoice, okay, let me test it myself

#

thanks

#

final question, besides reconcile API, is there an API to adjust invoice amount manually

finite forge
#

Don't believe so, no
