I'm hoping to convert some Standard Connect accounts to Express and was told that the only way to do so would be to completely re-onboard them as Express. If they use the same email address, there wouldn't be any error upon creation?
I should be able to differentiate them by Account Type

If you have a Gmail account I would use the hack that you can add extra characters by appending the + and a descriptive string. It will be treated as a different email address but emails sent there will be forwarded to the inbox
e.g "test+testingconnect@gmail.com" will send email to "test@gmail.com"
In that case, you should be fine to use the same email address
