By change the screen layout, do you mean between portrait and landscape or some other customization?

my reader is a custom android product that has all the requirements to run the app, and it does run.

Okay, I see what's happening. Two things:
- No, it's not currently possible to directly customize the UI of the tap to pay page. We're supposed to dynamically adjust that page with instructions based on what we know about the connected device and where the bluetooth antenna is located
- We know the bluetooth antenna location (and can adjust the UI) for the devices listed in the page above only
