sooo i'm not the coder working on the project. Is there a way to set it up through the stripe website so that a field appears on teh customer protal

I don't think it's possible in the Dashboard and requires an API change today unfortunately. That'd be a feature request you can flag to our support team though: https://support.stripe.com/contact
