Hello! We'll be with you shortly. Below are links to other discussions we've had with you in the past week in case you want to review that information. If your question is related to one of these previous discussions, please provide a comprehensive summary of the current state and what you need help with now. We help many users simultaneously, so a summary allows us to resolve your issue as soon as possible.

Hi, my colleague had to step away. Could you please share a bit of context?
Transfer what exactly?

In the previous thread we discussed having to split fees. So your colleague stated that it's only possible to transfer from a platform account to a connect account.

Given this, we are wondering if as the platform owner, we are allowed to create a Connect account which is owned by us. Basically, when a payment succeeds, and the set fees are sent to our platform account, we then want to split some of the fee over to a separate account, which seems to be possible with a transfer to a Connect account

Yes, that's basically one of the main Connect flows:

  1. Your Platform creates a Connected account, that's owned by it.
  2. Your client/partner onboards the Connected account.
  3. Your Platform charges the customers.
  4. Your Platform creates a Transfer to send funds to the Connected account.

I see, thanks. Our flow goes like this:

  1. The Platform creates a Connected account, that's owned by it.
  2. Our client/partner onboards the Connected account.
  3. The Connected account charges the customers, via Payment-Links.
  4. The Payment-Link has a fee percentage set which goes to the Platform.
  5. The Platform creates a Transfer to send a split of the fee taken to a Connected account owned and onboarded by us, intended as a separate fee account.

Is this flow allowed? It is intended as a subscription service, and the fees we take need to be split up once we receive them

Are you doing Direct Charges?

We are using Payment Links which are owned by the Connect account. The Payment Link is set as a Subscription payment which the Customer uses. I assume this would come under Direct Charges?

Will the "creators" interact with Stripe Dashboard?

I believe we want the Creators to be able to interact with the Express Dashboard

If you're using Express account types, then you should definitely use Transfers/Destination Charges, and not Direct Charges. Express accounts should not own any PaymentIntents/Subscriptions/etc., since they can't manage risk/refunds etc. from Express Dashboard.

#

It doesn't matter how it's represented under the hood, in your own application you can make the Subscriptions/Links seem like they belong to the Connected Acccounts.

I see. This is a good point, let me discuss this with my colleagues, and will get back to you if there are any further questions. Thank you for your time 🙏
