Ok so regarding what you said earlier, can you confirm that this is being worked on and something Stripe will definitely want to provide someday? Or you cannot confirm this and maybe it is not even meant to happen?

It's being worked on, but I'm always hesitant to guarantee things being worked on will launch. I strongly believe this one will, but I'm not comfortable guaranteeing that 😅

My site has been using Card Element component so far. Our users already have Stripe Customer accounts created, with some stored payment methods on them. Can you confirm that I can use the same Stripe Customer accounts when I switch to Payment Element component? That I don't need to have two Stripe Customer accounts for each user, one for Card Element and one for Payment Element. That I don't need to update the Customer account either? I am asking this because I am using the Drupal module Commerce Stripe that has recently added Payment Element and so far the behavior is that they don't reuse the same Customer account for Card Element and Payment Element. I want to suggest them to reuse the same Customer, but I want to make sure this is allowed and possible first. Thank you.

Yup, the same Customer objects will work with any of our integration paths, you don't need to create duplicate Customer objects to represent the same customer.
