So, I am on test mode for now, so I can setup connect account. I want to test doing a "payout", or "withdrawal". I can't at the moment cuz the account is at 0 balance, so I was wondering if, on test mode, I could add funds to a connect account from the dasboard

Also, for reference, the connect accounts are custom account types

I see! Thanks for sharing. It should be possible to add funds to connected account in the Dashboard. The steps will be:

Go to https://dashboard.stripe.com/test/connect/accounts/overview
Select target connected account
Click Add funds at top right corner

Stripe Login | Sign in to the Stripe Dashboard

Sign in to the Stripe Dashboard to manage business payments and operations in your account. Manage payments and refunds, respond to disputes and more.

The funds will be added from the platform balance

Hmmm I tried, but it says "insufficient funds for the transfer."

Then you should ensure that your platform has sufficient balance by making payments on the platform account with using bypassing balance test cards: https://stripe.com/docs/testing#available-balance
