Do you have the ID of a PaymentIntent that you saw this on? (pi_1234)

And to be clear, are the users typically still completing their 3DS flow when this happens?

They try to, but before they can finish, it kicks them out of the stripe_sdk with error requires_payment_method - payment_intent_authentication_failure - The provided PaymentMethod has failed authentication. You can provide payment_method_data or a new PaymentMethod to attempt to fulfill this PaymentIntent again.

I took a look at the payment intent you provided and I can see that it required authentication and, 1m 20s later, the authentication failed. Unfortunately I can't tell much more than that.

Do you have a staging site where this issue is reproducable?

Unfortunately, this problem doesn't exist in the sandbox environment / test api.

Actually, I can try this same account in test mode, maybe that will reproduce it. If it does, I might have something to share. I won't be able to do this right away, I'm tied up at the moment.
