@tiny lodge that's expected. All the "pause collection" feature does is not collect payment without changing anything to the Subscription

Hi koopajah! I see in the subscription API that one of the possible value for status is paused, how to achieve so?
That's a different feature to pause a Subscription right at the end of a trial, but you can't pause it mid cycle
Oh ok thanks for the clarification!
I already have an invoice that is supposed to be paid tomorrow, will it be canceled automatically since I disabled the payment collection? When clicking on View upcoming invoice, I still see Will be billed on Dec. 1
no it will not
you can close or void that Invoice if you don't want any payment attempt on it
Do I have to manullay close/void the invoice or it will be done automatically?
you have to do it yourself
the "pause collection" feature only applies to future Invoices
I see!
What I would like to do is cancel the invoice of December 1st, which covers the period from December 1st to December 31st, and let the system generate the next invoice from January 1st to January 31st just as asual. What do I need to do to achieve this? Do I need to pause the payment collection?
Yes use the pause payment collection feature and configure it to void their next Invoice
If I do so, I don't have to manually void the next invoice from December 1st to December 31st ?
Because both invoices December 1st-31st and January 1st-31st are future invoices right?
correct
but I just want to avoid the december invoice
๐
Sorry If I'm not clear ๐
Sorry we're talking a bit in circles. You configure the Subscription to pause payment collection from now until whenever you wnat to start payments again and you configure it to void any Invoice in that period. So if you want the January 1st Invoice you end the pause before that and then it just works and does exactly what you want
Alright! I think you have to do it (void the future invoice from Dec 1st to 31st) yourself confused me
So I don't have to do anything except pausing the payment collection
yeah sorry you said I already have an invoice that is supposed to be paid tomorrow as if it was issued already and ready to be paid
Yes, the payment is planned for tomorrow but if I disable the payment collection, the invoice will be automatically voided If I understand correctly
Yes! but the payment is in the future
lol
(tomorrow)
The pause collection fature only applies to future Invoices not yet created. I'm so sorry but we're completely talking past each other
if you already have an Invoice just void it right now and never think about it again
Oh ok! Makes total sense! So I don't need to pause the payment collection, I just have to void the created invoice and that's it
yes
Thank you very much! Sorry for wasting your time ๐
no worries at all, you weren't unclear, I was just reading your words another way (most people who have a Subscription Jan 1st - Jan 31 would have the Invoice issued on Jan 1st)
Actually you were right right from the beginning, the invoice is not created, it's an upcoming invoice so it's in the future ๐

Sorry for the confusion!
