This puts the configurations through properties, and this makes the code more secure since the property itself can go in a secret for example and you don't need to expose your key or access the environment variable.

or can access directly the environment variable by property file

but this is not an issue, even the lib uses this. That would be a new project, wouldn't it?

If you create it, it's yours and it becomes official, otherwise there's no problem.

Cool so that's what I was recommending: Open a github issue on stripe-java, explain what you did and what you're offering and then the team can either recommend building your own or help take over, that's the right next step
