You dont have a webhook between invoice.upcoming and invoice.created right? It would be amazing to get a webhook event just before billing period end (to set usage)
Also, is there some way to avoid sending email receipts and invoices?

Correct, though you can make the invoice.upcoming event happen as close as 3 from when the subscription will cycle https://dashboard.stripe.com/account/billing/automatic
