You are correct, the current availability of Financial Connections is still US only. To be clear, the entire integration is still a Beta program (but a public beta). https://stripe.com/docs/financial-connections

To inquire whether or not there is a separate beta for trying out this integration in Canada I recommend you write in to Support here

ok, I'll contact support. One more question, is it possible to try out the US beta program even though my stripe account is Canada based? I was imagining trying it out with an American bank account. I'm guessing it's not possible, but just wanted to confirm.

No I don't think that is possible. But to be sure I would also raise that to support (it's more of an Account configuration question and we're more cofused on API integrations).
