Why do test clocks not working for you exactly?

Well you can't use test clocks on existing customers/users in test mode. What we wanted to happen is that we test the billing cycle on existing users so that we can check in our application if features are enabled during subscription period and not available once cancelled or at the end of the trial

That's not possible. You will need to re-create the testing setup with test clocks.
