Can you clarify why you are trying to render two different address elements here?

Like address element already allows the customer to use a different shipping/billing address

Ah you aren't using it in combo with Payment Element?

well we are, but I think the payment element is under a different <Elements /> provider. would this effect it?

If you use them together then it will provide the option to use same shipping/billing

so if I understand this correctly they just need to be in the same provider and they'll be good?

I would do it quick myself but they are pretty de-coupled lol

and can the mode just stay as "shipping"
