So the user already has a Subscription, and you want to upgrade that Subscription?

one thing i do want to ask, this is just upgrading or downgrading it, how i take user to checkout page to get charged

You just update the Subscripton (as explained above), and the customer default payment method will be automatically charged.

No need to take the user to a checkout page

Correct, you'll get a customer.subscription.updated event.
