Hey there
Hi
That information is not available in the API
Complete reference documentation for the Stripe API. Includes code snippets and examples for our Python, Java, PHP, Node.js, Go, Ruby, and .NET libraries.
I believe it is actually, could you inquire please?
Stripe is clearly saving the IP address for tax related purposes and exposing it as a single field on their tax related object for the Customer object. I was told by another support rep that it is possible to have the IP address for the Customer object added via a feature gate. Could you please inquire?
Yeah sorry, since this is a public forum we can't discuss private features here. You'll need to continue working with our Support team if you are looking for access to a private feature.
Ok
The docs I linked to are public however, could you please provide some info related to the tax IP address?
Sure, that IP address is provided based on automatic tax calculation in our hosted flows.
You can't generally retrieve the IP Address of a Charge -- it would only be present if the IP is used for tax calculation inference as the property states
Excellent, so if we are using the hosted checkout flow we will get that IP address in the assosciated tax object? do we have to also use the tax feature with Stripe?
I believe you do have to use automatic tax for it to be in the response, but I'd recommend testing that out as I don't remember 100%.
Is it possible for you to inquire on that? It'd be quite difficult for us to spoof all those changes to test this
No, you are the developer here and it is expected that you test your integration thoroughly regardless of what is told to you. I am helping multiple folks right now so can't test this myself at this moment.
Otherwise, you can ask our Support team
And they will get back to you async with the answer
