Actually think I found it... "This beta integration improves upon the integration in the Finalize payments on the server guide by using a ConfirmationToken instead of a PaymentMethod to send data collected from your client to your server. ConfirmationTokens hold a superset of the data found on a PaymentMethod, such as shipping, and will enable upcoming features such as saving and displaying saved payment methods using the Payment Element."
Is this the only difference? And given it's "beta" does that mean it's not production ready?

Beta means we haven't fully made it available to the general audience. It can be used in production but there are non-zero percent chances of there being some sort of changes later on.

Ah okay that makes sense, do you have timelines in terms of this being more "publically" available? This might well be somehting we're interested in. Of course I can always request access anyway :P
