Express accounts have their own simpler version of the Express dashboard. I'd recommend seeing what it looks like in test mode to see what your users will see https://stripe.com/docs/connect/integrate-express-dashboard

Express account holders don't get access to a regular stripe dashboard
they can only use express dashboard

i have tried view dashboard as connected account
that looks completely different from the dashboard it redirects for account login link creation

Viewing dashboard as the connected account isn't really a way to test this.
You'd want to create a login link in test mode for a test express account and see it that way.
