the error message is confusing/wrong unfortunately, but it's because it's not possible to use separate transfers in India : https://support.stripe.com/questions/stripe-india-support-for-marketplaces#:~:text=The separate charges and transfers charge type%2C as well as standalone transfers via the Dashboard or API to Connected accounts%2C are not supported at present

It is just balance transfer from stripe platform account to stripe standard connect account. There is no payment linked with this transfer so what is the restrcition

the restriction is that we don't support this, per the doc : "The separate charges and transfers charge type, as well as standalone transfers via the Dashboard or API to Connected accounts, are not supported at present"

you can write to https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true if you have a question about this.

But overall I'd suggest using a supported fund flow for Connect instead like Direct or Destination Charges.

I have another question, regarding connect payment

So for ex. when i am making payment using payment intent to the standard connect account and taking application fees for platform..

It is possible to split payment for two stripe connect account ?

Suppose customer is paying 100$, And i want to split 40$ to one connect account, another 40$ to second connect account, and rest 20$ as application fees

to do that you would need to use Separate Charges and Transfers, but that's not possible in India as previously discussed

a workaround would be to charge the end-customer twice, in two separate Direct Charges that each take a fee, but that would be super messy to try and do so I don't think it make sense.

I would say your use case is just not supported today on our product in India.
